Tuning licence code for Shimano EP6 and EP8 – via Bluetooth, no cable
With this digital tuning licence code for e-bikes with Shimano EP6 (EP600) or EP8 (EP800) you adjust the factory speed limit via software – without removing the motor, a tuning chip or a cable. No workshop appointment, no tools.
Activation is wireless via Bluetooth using an Android smartphone or a Windows PC/laptop. Shimano motors are fitted in e-bikes from many manufacturers – what matters is the drive, not the bike brand.

📟 Real speed on the display
The speedometer shows the actual speed even after tuning. You can keep using the Shimano E-TUBE app as usual afterwards.
💻 Requirement: Android or Windows
For activation you need an Android smartphone or a Windows PC/laptop with Bluetooth and Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. iPhone, iPad and Mac are not supported.
⚙️ Does your e-bike have Bluetooth?
If your e-bike can be paired with the Shimano E-TUBE app, it has Bluetooth. If not, you first need to retrofit the Shimano Bluetooth adapter EW-EN100 (available separately from specialist dealers). After that, activation works as described.

🔧 Activation
Order the licence code.
Receive your personal code by email, usually within one hour of payment being received.
Close the Shimano E-TUBE app on all devices.
Switch on the e-bike and enable Bluetooth on your smartphone or PC.
Open the activation page from the email in Chrome or Edge.
Select the brand “Shimano” and your e-bike in the Bluetooth list.
Enter the full licence code and install any update that may be required.
Choose the assist limit, apply the tuning and wait until the page confirms the setting.
Allow up to 20 minutes. Keep the page open and in the foreground until the end, and keep the e-bike switched on. If the process stops, start it again until it has run through completely.
🔄 Deactivation
You can restore the original setting at any time on the activation page. No permanently fitted chip is needed.
1 code = 1 e-bike. On activation, the code is assigned to your e-bike and cannot be transferred to another vehicle afterwards – not even after a reset.
⚠️ Software updates
A software update from Shimano or at a dealer may affect how the unlock works. We cannot predict whether or when this will happen. Your e-bike should be in its original software state; software that has already been modified or replaced electronic parts may prevent activation.
How fast you actually ride depends on factors such as the motor, gearing, battery level, weight, tyres, gradient and wind. No particular value is guaranteed.

Delivery area: Orders are only possible with an address in Austria or Germany.
🛡️ No returns after delivery – statutory warranty remains
Digital licence codes cannot be returned once they have been provided. When buying, you expressly agree in the cart that we deliver immediately, and you confirm that your statutory right of withdrawal expires as a result. Details can be found in the withdrawal policy.
Irrespective of this, your statutory warranty rights remain, for example if a licence code is invalid or has already been used. In such a case, please contact us – we check every case individually.
⚖️ Legal notice: for private property and tracks only
Our tuning licence codes are intended for hobby and sport riders who use their vehicle on closed-off private property or suitable tracks – with the consent of the owner or operator.
In Austria and Germany, a vehicle modified in this way is not approved for use on public roads. The operating permit or type approval and insurance cover lapse, possibly also the authorisation to ride it; the manufacturer's guarantee may no longer apply.
In other countries, please find out about the legal situation yourself beforehand. There, too, it must generally be assumed that use on public roads is not permitted.
E-Scooter Unlock is an independent provider and is not affiliated with Shimano. Brand names are used only to indicate compatibility.
🛡️ Safety
Higher speeds increase, among other things, braking distance, energy consumption, tyre and brake wear and the stress on the battery, motor, drivetrain, suspension and frame. The risk of accidents and injury also rises. Only use the unlock with an e-bike in technically perfect condition, and wear a suitable helmet and protective clothing.

May I ride on public roads with it?
No. In Austria and Germany, an e-bike modified in this way is not approved for use on public roads. The code is intended for closed-off private property and tracks.
